It is believed, however unconfirmed, hat during a time of lament and prayer St. Anne the wife of St. Joachim was visited by an angel and despite being well beyond her child bearing years miraculously became pregnant and later gave birth to the Blessed Virgin Mary.  Those who pray to Saint Anne may seek spiritual healing, blessings, insurance against poverty and tranquility.
