Prayer to Saint Christopher

There is no dates about either the birth or death of Saint Christopher.  The story that circulates in the West is that he was a man of gigantic stature who wanted to serve the mightiest of masters.  He lived alone by a ford where he earned a living by passing travelers on his shoulders across the waters.  One day a child appeared and asked to be carried across.  Half way through the ford the child became so heavy that the giant was barely able to finish the crossing.  When St. Christopher complained to the child about his unusual weight,  the child told him that the heaviness he felt was the weight of the world hat he was carrying on his shoulders.  The child then revealed himself as Jesus Christ whereupon St. Christopher fell down on his knees and declared that he had finally found the master he was seeking.  He is the patron of travelers and of the city of Havana.
